Annotating Graphics & Screenshots

We have some simple guidelines to use when annotating your tutorial graphics. You shouldn't use annotation for words or explanation — this should be kept in the tutorial text. But occasionally it can be helpful to draw attention to certain elements within a screenshot or graphic, with arrows, circles, or numbers.

Annotation in Photoshop or Illustrator

If you're fairly proficient in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, we have a downloadable set of brushes and layer styles that you can use. We've also prepared two tutorials that explain how to use them.
